Characteristics

1. Steam uses three types of digital assets as native tokens: STEEM, SBD (Steem Dollar, Steam Dollar), and SP (Steem Power, Steam Power).
2. Verifiers, referred to as Witnesses, are responsible for block creation and pricing oracles, and the top 20 nodes given the most SP by voting from all participants are witnesses.
3. Steam distributes block rewards due to inflation to validators and content contributors, with no network transaction fees.

 

Vision

• In early 2020, Steam experienced a community split due to Hive hard fork, but it has become a decentralized social media platform centered on Steemit, the main D-app. In the future, it aims to build an expanded social media ecosystem by attracting more diverse D-apps.
